Assistant /Associate Professor of Research - Veterinary Medicine
for section headings (About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule)
- Use - for lists
- Use
for prose
- Do NOT repeat job title as heading
- Do NOT put Job ID/requisition numbers as headings
- Preserve ALL substantive information
- Remove boilerplate (EEO, equal opportunity, scam warnings, application instructions, cookie/navigation/legal)
- Include section ONLY when real, specific content exists — no filler/placeholder text
- No Pay/Schedule/Benefits sections unless actually stated (they are stated here)
- Output ONLY HTML fragment, no /, no markdown fences
Let me structure:
1. About the role: The first paragraph describes the opportunity, mission, location. That's "About the role".
2. Pay: Salary range and details. Should be a section.
3. Benefits: Detailed benefits package. Section.
4. Primary Purpose: Could be part of "About the role" or separate. The heading "Primary Purpose" is in the text. I'll use "Primary Purpose" as heading.
5. Essential Job Functions / Responsibilities: The text says "Essential Job Functions" then "Responsibilities in research..." and then "Research & Scholarly Activities" with bullet-like items. Also "Participate in the following University Activities". I'll combine into "Responsibilities" with sub-lists? But rule: use
- for any list of duties/requirements/benefits. I'll create a "Responsibilities" section with list items for each major area: Research & Scholarly Activities, University Activities, etc. But the text has specific bullet points under Research & Scholarly Activities. I'll make them list items.
Better to follow the headings as they appear: "Essential Job Functions", "Research & Scholarly Activities", "University Activities". But the rule says use
for section headings like "Responsibilities". I'll map: "Essential Job Functions" -> "Responsibilities". Then "Research & Scholarly Activities" could be a subsection? But rule says only for section headings. I'll keep as separate sections: "Research & Scholarly Activities", "University Activities". That's fine.
6. Minimum Qualifications: list.
7. Preferred Qualifications: list.
8. Additional Requirements: background check, drug screening, video interview, ADA, physical requirements. Could be "Additional Requirements" or "Requirements". I'll use "Requirements" for minimum and preferred, and "Additional Requirements" for the rest.
But rule: "Requirements" heading for qualifications. I'll do "Minimum Qualifications" and "Preferred Qualifications" as separate sections.
Also, there's "Commitment to Inclusive Excellence" which is EEO boilerplate - remove.
"Final applicant will be required to pass background check and drug screening. Qualified applicants will be contacted. There may be an additional video interview..." - keep as part of additional requirements.
"Rocky Vista University is in full compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)..." - keep as it's about physical requirements, but it's boilerplate? The rule says remove EEO/equal-opportunity boilerplate. ADA compliance is legal boilerplate, but the physical requirements are specific. I'll include the physical requirements as they are job-specific.
The email "careers@universitysupport.com #HEJ" - application instruction, remove.
Now, write HTML.
Let's draft:

Pay
Salary $149,864 - $196,539 per year. The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to skill, knowledge, experience, education, and credentials. Specifically, Faculty salary is determined by these factors as well as Faculty Rank which will be determined by the RVU Rank and Promotion committee. Relocation Assistance available.
Benefits
- 401(k) with match up to 7% based on employee’s contribution
- Health, Dental and Vision insurance
- 2 weeks (minimum) accrued paid vacation days per year
- 12 accrued sick days per year
- Personal days
- 13 ½ paid holidays
Primary Purpose
Enhance the knowledge, growth and overall development of the veterinary students through contribution to courses administered by the Department of Veterinary Biomedical Sciences through the delivery of assigned lectures, running small groups, reviewing and contributing to course material, developing and reviewing exam questions.
Responsibilities
- Conduct research related to the candidate’s discipline
- Advise and mentor DVM and graduate students
- Actively engage in independent and collaborative research in your area of expertise, including projects suitable for veterinary student participation
- Collaborate with CVM faculty in other departments on research (desirable)
- Participate in Faculty Senate
- Attend departmental meetings when required
- Participate in departmental faculty evaluations when required
- Serve on college/university committees
Research & Scholarly Activities
Research areas of emphasis at CVM include:
- One Health
- Wildlife & Conservation Medicine
- Climate Change
- Zoonotic Diseases
- Public Health
University Activities
- Faculty Senate
- Departmental Meetings (when required)
- Departmental Faculty evaluations (when required)
- College/University committees
Wait, the "University Activities" list duplicates some from Responsibilities. In the original, "Participate in the following University Activities" lists those four. I already included them in Responsibilities. But the original has them as separate section. I'll keep both but avoid duplication? The rule: preserve ALL substantive information. The original has "Essential Job Functions" then "Research & Scholarly Activities" then "Participate in the following University Activities". I'll keep them as separate sections but the University Activities list is distinct. However, the Responsibilities list I made includes them. Better to follow the original structure: have "Responsibilities" for the essential job functions (which includes research and mentoring), then "Research & Scholarly Activities" for the emphasis areas, then "University Activities" for the participation list. But the "Essential Job Functions" heading in the text is followed by "Responsibilities in research related to the candidate’s discipline." Then "Research & Scholarly Activities" heading. Then "Participate in the following University Activities". So I'll do:
Essential Job Functions
- Responsibilities in research related to the candidate’s discipline
- Advise and mentor DVM and graduate students and actively engage in independent and collaborative research
- Actively engage in independent and collaborative research in your area of expertise to include projects suitable for veterinary student participation
- Specific interest and background in collaborative research with CVM faculty in other departments is desirable
But the original text: "Essential Job Functions Responsibilities in research related to the candidate’s discipline. Research & Scholarly Activities Research areas of emphasis at CVM include: ... Advise and mentor DVM and graduate students and actively engage in independent and collaborative research. Actively engage in independent and collaborative research in your area of expertise to include projects suitable for veterinary student participation. Specific interest and background in collaborative research with CVM faculty in other departments is desirable. Participate in the following University Activities Faculty Senate Departmental Meetings (when required) Departmental Faculty evaluations (when required) College/University committees"
It's a bit messy. I'll parse as:
- Essential Job Functions: includes research responsibilities, advising/mentoring, collaborative research.
- Research & Scholarly Activities: lists emphasis areas.
- University Activities: lists participation.
I'll create three sections.
Now Minimum Qualifications and Preferred Qualifications.
Minimum Qualifications
- DVM and/or PhD from an accredited institution
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience and interest in research required
- Board eligible or board certification preferred
Additional Requirements
- Final applicant must pass background check and drug screening
- Qualified applicants will be contacted; there may be an additional video interview
- Applicants should monitor email including spam and promotions folders
Physical Requirements
Ability to orally communicate effectively with others; Ability to communicate effectively in writing, using the English language; Ability to work cooperatively with colleagues and supervisory staff at all levels; May be exposed to short, intermittent, and/or prolonged periods of sitting and/or standing in performance of job duties; May be required to accomplish job duties using various types of equipment/supplies to include, but not limited to, pens, pencils, calculators, computer keyboards, telephone, etc.; May be required to transport oneself to other campus offices, conference rooms, and on occasion, to off-campus sites to attend meetings, conferences, workshops, seminars, etc.
But the ADA compliance statement is boilerplate? The rule says remove EEO/equal-opportunity boilerplate. The ADA statement is legal compliance, but the physical requirements are specific. I'll keep the physical requirements as a section, but omit the "Rocky Vista University is in full compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and does not discriminate..." as that's boilerplate. However, the physical requirements are listed after that. I'll include the physical requirements list.
Now, check for any missing info: The "Commitment to Inclusive Excellence" paragraph is EEO, remove. The "Qualified applicants will receive consideration..." remove. The email and #HEJ remove.
Now, ensure no filler sections. All sections
