Assistant/Associate Professor of Nursing, Undergraduate program
Palm Beach Atlantic University’s School of Nursing invites applications for two full-time, on-campus faculty positions dedicated to undergraduate nursing education. These roles offer the opportunity to prepare the next generation of practice-ready, Christ-centered nurse leaders in Community Health and Pediatrics.
About the Role
Both positions involve a full-time teaching load of 12 contact hours per semester, with responsibilities spanning didactic, laboratory, simulation, and clinical instruction. Faculty members will also engage in student advising and mentoring, scholarship and research, professional practice, and service to the School of Nursing, University, and broader nursing profession.
Community Health Position
- Primary teaching responsibilities in community health nursing, including didactic, laboratory, simulation, and clinical instruction.
- Development, coordination, and evaluation of community-based clinical experiences.
- Collaboration with community partners to secure and maintain quality clinical placements that support student learning and community service.
- Experience with simulation-based education, community assessment, and building partnerships with local agencies.
- Recent clinical practice experience in community nursing and related fields.
Pediatrics Position
- Teaching undergraduate nursing students through in-person instruction in classroom, laboratory, simulation, and clinical settings.
- Responsibilities include pediatrics nursing courses and clinical instruction in pediatrics and medical-surgical nursing.
Requirements
- Doctoral degree required (PhD or DNP); PhD in Nursing preferred.
- Current Florida Registered Nurse license or eligibility for Florida licensure before employment.
- Current BLS/CPR certification.
- One or more years of teaching experience in an accredited nursing program.
- Demonstrated commitment to excellence in undergraduate nursing education.
- Experience with instructional technologies.
- Evidence of scholarly productivity, including publications, presentations, or grant activity.
- Experience with competency-based education, curriculum development, and evaluation.
- Prior collegiate-level teaching experience preferred.
- Commitment to teaching excellence and service to the college, university, and community.
- Demonstrated Christian commitment and ability to integrate faith into coursework.
