About This Job

Northwestern State University College of Nursing and School of Allied Health seeks an applicant for a 12-month full-time faculty position for the Associate/Bachelor of Science degree programs in nursing available in Natchitoches, or off-campus instructional site beginning August 3, 2026. Academic rank and salary commensurate with qualifications and experience. Review of applications will begin immediately. Position will remain open until filled.

Job Duties

  • Teach all classes in a manner that will promote academic excellence to the fullest extent.
  • Provide instruction in areas of expertise.
  • Utilize a variety of teaching strategies appropriate to domain of learning.
  • Serve as a role model to students and peers.
  • Aid in the development, evaluation and revision of curriculum, and policies and procedures within the College of Nursing.
  • Maintain required office hours.
  • Maintain good attendance.
  • Serve as an advisor and mentor for students in the College of Nursing.
  • Advises students interested in the program and those currently in the program in regard to the curriculum and APDG requirements.
  • Attend College of Nursing and/or University functions and committee meetings as assigned.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the College of Nursing goals and objectives.
  • Maintain a positive attitude.
  • Participate in scholarly activities and other creative activities, such as, scholarly research; writing books, book chapters, and/or articles; podium or poster presentations; etc.
  • Recruit students to all programs within the College of Nursing and School of Allied Health.
  • Represent the College of Nursing and University in a professional manner.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Program Director, Senior Director, Dean, or University Administration.
