About the role
Penn State Dickinson Law invites applications from both entry-level and lateral candidates for multiple tenure-track or tenured faculty positions (Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor of Law), with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2026, at our Carlisle and University Park, Pennsylvania locations.
Responsibilities
- Produce high-quality scholarly research in the field of law
- Teach law courses and demonstrate excellence in the classroom
- Serve as a mentor to student research assistants
- Contribute to the academic success and bar exam preparation area
- Explore additional teaching interests that align with the evolving needs of the law school
Requirements
- A demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence, impactful scholarship, and student mentorship is essential
- Interest in teaching and contributing to the curriculum in legal writing and research instruction
- Relevant teaching or practice experience, judicial clerkships at any level, interdisciplinary scholarly work, or post-J.D. studies, degrees, or certificates
Qualifications
The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in law or a related field, along with a J.D. degree. Experience in legal education, teaching, and research is preferred.
Skills
Strong communication skills, ability to work independently and collaboratively, and a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion are required.
