Assistant/Associate Professor of Clinical Small Animal Internal Medicine - Academic Clinician (AC)

About the role

The successful candidate will be a member of the Department of Clinical Sciences and Advanced Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania's School of Veterinary Medicine. They will hold an Assistant or Associate Professor position in the Academic Clinician track in Small Animal Internal Medicine.

Responsibilities

  • Provide patient care and supervise day-to-day operations of the Internal Medicine service in the Matthew J. Ryan Veterinary Hospital.
  • Teach veterinary students rotating through the service and mentor internal medicine residents.
  • Contribute to classroom/laboratory teaching.

Requirements

  • History of or potential as an exemplary clinician and educator.
  • Demonstrated excellence in clinical service and teaching.
  • Board certification in Small Animal Internal Medicine from the American or European College of Veterinary Internal Medicine, or completion of an internal medicine residency program at an accredited university within 24 months of employment.

Qualifications

  • Veterinary degree.
  • Board certification in Small Animal Internal Medicine from the American or European College of Veterinary Internal Medicine, or completion of an internal medicine residency program at an accredited university within 24 months of employment.

  • Exemplary clinical skills.
  • Effective teaching abilities.
