Teaching
- Actively precept as teaching physician in the resident outpatient clinics.
- Incorporate patient care aspects and procedural skills into teaching.
- Incorporate time management skills, doctor-patient relationship, professionalism, ethical and legal considerations, billing and coding into teaching.
- Mentor family medicine residents regularly, reviewing rotation evaluations, chart notes, counseling and advising on problems or issues, and documenting findings or results in professional development folders.
- Develop and facilitate core curriculum conferences for the residency program.
Service
- Provide direct patient care to a panel of patients.
- Conduct procedure clinics as needed based on patient demand.
- Participate in family medicine hospital service and call.
- Serve on SIHF and/or AMH Committees, as assigned.
- Serve on school and department committees, as assigned.
- Participate in community outreach projects.
- Attend faculty meetings and resident conferences.
- Participate in peer review and Quality Improvement activities.
Qualifications
- Sensitive to the needs of underrepresented minority populations.
- Graduate of an accredited medical school program.
- Successfully completed an approved residency program at time of hire.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine at time of hire.
- Licensed in the State of Illinois or eligible for licensure in the State of Illinois.
- Willingness to practice inpatient medicine.
- Desired: Willingness to practice obstetrics.
