Teaching
- Actively precept as teaching physician in the resident outpatient clinics.
- Incorporate patient care aspects and procedural skills into teaching.
- Incorporate time management skills, doctor-patient relationship, professionalism, ethical and legal considerations, and billing and coding into teaching.
- Counsel and advise family practice residents regularly on their rotation evaluations, chart notes, and professional development.
- Develop and facilitate core curriculum conferences for the residency program.
Service
- Provide direct patient care to own panel of patients at the Center.
- Conduct procedure clinics as needed based on patient demand.
- Participate in hospitalist family medicine call.
- Participate in Center Peer Review and Quality Improvement activities.
- Provide emergency services to patients as needed, including those without a primary care physician.
- Serve on the Center-wide Committees, as assigned.
- Serve on school and department committees, as assigned.
- Participate in community outreach projects.
- Attend faculty meetings and resident conferences.
Research
- Conduct research in areas of particular interest.
- Publish in referred journals.
- Complete a minimum of 2 scholarly activities every 5 years.
- Attend national professional meetings for attendance/presentation.
Qualifications
- Sensitive to the needs of underrepresented minority populations.
- Md or DO degree from an accredited residency training program at time of hire.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine at time of hire.
- Licensed to practice Medicine in the state of Illinois at time of hire.
- Willingness to practice inpatient family medicine and/or obstetrical calls.
