About the role

The University of Connecticut School of Business invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track or tenured faculty position in Business Law at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. The anticipated start date is flexible and may be Fall 2026, Spring 2027, or Fall 2027.

Responsibilities

  • Teach courses in Business Law.
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of the Business Law curriculum.
  • Participate in departmental, college, and university committees and initiatives.
  • Engage in scholarly research in the field of Business Law.
  • Develop and maintain a strong research agenda.
  • Supervise and mentor graduate students.
  • Participate in professional development activities and conferences.

Requirements

  • Earned JD degree by the time of appointment from an accredited U.S. law school or equivalent U.S. or foreign terminal degree.
  • Experience in the practice of law in areas related to business.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated record of excellent scholarship in the field of Business Law.
  • A research agenda that complements departmental needs.
  • A record of effective teaching experience at the higher or executive education level.
  • Demonstrate evidence of service to the university, the field, or the profession through leadership in professional organizations, editorial activities, or successful involvement in undergraduate or graduate curriculum development.
