  • Job Summary

    This position is a full-time faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor in the Department of Pathology, Section of Anatomic Pathology at the Medical College of Georgia (MCG) at Augusta University.

Responsibilities

Participate in general surgical pathology sign-out service, provide frozen section, evening, weekend and holiday call coverage, participate in subspecialty anatomic pathology sign out service, provide subspecialty anatomic pathology consultations and represent pathology at subspecialty tumor boards, perform/supervise and sign out adult autopsies on a rotation basis, teach medical students/residents (didactic and unknown conference sessions) and co-scoping with residents and medical students during sign-out service, engage in scholarly activities and research based on assigned effort, perform other related duties as assigned.

  • Required Qualifications

    MD, DO or equivalent with AP or AP/CP training and American Board of Pathology board certification or board eligible. GA state licensure. Credentialed to practice at Wellstar MCG Health Medical center. Subspecialty interest or fellowship training and/or experience.

Shift/Salary/Benefits

This position is fiscal year based and works year-round. The intended work commitment or full-time equivalent (FTE) for this position is 1.0 and considered full-time. Assistant Professor- Salary and compensation is commensurate with education, experience, and achievements. The salary is subject to availability of funds. Associate Professor- Salary and compensation is commensurate with education, experience, and achievements. The salary is subject to availability of funds.
