Assistant/Associate Professor in Educational Research
About the role
The Spadoni College of Education and Social Sciences at Coastal Carolina University announces a full-time tenure track position in Educational Research beginning August 2027. The department houses a Ph.D. in Education Sciences with specializations including Curriculum, Instruction & Assessment, Higher Education Administration, Educational Leadership, and Charter, Private & Independent School Leadership. The successful candidate will be expected to collaborate with the chair, program coordinators, and other program faculty to plan and teach graduate courses as needed; these are expected to include Quantitative and Mixed Methods courses for the Ph.D. program and chairing dissertation sections. The successful candidate will also actively participate in curriculum and assessment development and analysis; provide advisement and mentorship to students; participate in program, departmental, college, and university governance; represent the program with external constituencies; assist with the recruitment and retention of students; and engage in relevant professional activities and scholarship. The faculty and administrators in the Spadoni College, along with professional staff across the University, will provide meaningful support for the successful candidate’s teaching and scholarship as elements of their personal and professional career development. Responsibilities
- Teach graduate research courses utilizing synchronous and asynchronous instructional methods.
- Prepare content, syllabi, and University Moodle/curricular site for each course and/or lab assigned each semester; communicate to students after reviewing assignments; calculate and assign grades (e.g., mid-term and final) through established procedures listed
