About the role
The University of Utah seeks candidates who can be world-class leaders in Biomedical Imaging to fill a tenure-track Assistant Professor opening. Exceptional candidates will also be considered at other ranks. This is a collaborative faculty search among the Department of Biomedical Engineering within the College of Engineering and the Department of Radiology & Imaging Sciences within the School of Medicine.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to interdisciplinary research projects involving Biomedical Imaging Hardware Development and Biomedical Signal and Image Processing of all Biomedical imaging modalities.
- Participate in the Utah Center for Advanced Imaging Research (UCAIR), which is composed of 17 PhD faculty and numerous graduate students and postdoctoral fellows in the Radiology & Imaging Sciences Department.
- Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, engineers, and scientists in other departments to achieve real-world impact.
Requirements
- A primary appointment in an engineering department with a secondary or adjunct appointment in a medical department.
- Experience in Biomedical Imaging Hardware Development and Biomedical Signal and Image Processing of all Biomedical imaging modalities.
- Specific areas of high interest include Image Guided Therapy and Interventions, as well as AI and Computational Imaging.
Qualifications
- PhD in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals and conferences.
- Ability to secure extramural funding.
Skills
- Expertise in Biomedical Imaging Hardware Development.
- Knowledge of Biomedical Signal and Image Processing.
- Experience with Image Guided Therapy and Interventions.
- Proficiency in AI and Computational Imaging.
