Assistant/Associate Professor - Engineering - Fall 2027

UMHB’s College of Humanities and Sciences seeks a faculty member for its Computer Science, Engineering, and Physics Department, beginning in late July 2027, with initial appointment at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. The department offers a general engineering degree accredited by ABET EAC with emphases in mechanical and electrical engineering.

Responsibilities

• Exemplary teaching, curriculum development, student recruitment and advising, professional attainment, and service to department, college, university, and the community.
• Teach undergraduate courses in introductory and advanced engineering, with a focus on classes within the major’s electrical engineering emphasis.
• Teaching load is typically 12 hours per long semester.

Requirements

• Active and committed Christian who will support the University’s mission and participate in their local church.
• Doctorate in Engineering is required (preferably from an ABET-accredited institution); ABD will be considered (tenure-track status requires terminal degree in hand).
• Preference given to applicants with electrical engineering degrees/backgrounds, but related fields will be considered.
• Excellent teaching and communication skills, dedication to professional attainment, and commitment to quality improvement.
• Must agree to the University’s Employee Statement of Understanding.

UMHB is located in Belton, a historic town of 22,000 in central Texas.
