About the role
The Medical College of Georgia (MCG) at Augusta University invites applications for a faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor in the Educational Innovation Institute (Ell).
Responsibilities
Research - 15% Conduct independent and collaborative research in medical education, with an emphasis on areas such as learning sciences, curriculum design, assessment, faculty development, or educational technology integrated into the MCG strategic plan and related Ell tactical plans.
Journals - 10% Publish in high-quality peer-reviewed journals and present at national conferences.
Apply research findings - 15% Apply research findings to advance curriculum, learner assessment, and faculty development, using evidence-based strategies and scholarly evaluation to enhance teaching and learning.
Educational research design and implementation - 15% Support and partner with MCG faculty, Academic Affairs & curriculum, MCG departments, and programs to support rigorous qualitative or mixed-methods educational research design and implementation.
Mentor - 10% Mentor faculty, residents, fellows, and students in educational research methodology, data analysis, and dissemination.
Faculty Workshops - 10% Develop and facilitate faculty workshops that support the progression of research skills from beginner to advanced levels while occasionally integrating content on teaching strategies, learning methodologies, and curriculum design.
Consultation to support faculty - 10% Provide expert consultation to support faculty in educational research and scholarly activities, fostering continuous improvement and innovation in academic practice.
Committees - 10% Serve on Ell, MCG, and Augusta University committees as appropriate and needed.
Other - 5% Other duties as assigned by the MCG Associate Dean for Faculty Development.
Required Qualifications
Doctoral degree (PhD, EdD, PsyD, or equivalent).
Demonstrated research experience in a social science field such as education, psychology, educational psychology, anthropology, sociology.
Excellent written and oral presentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Doctorate in higher education/health professions education, instructional design/curriculum, psychology/educational psychology, sociology or equivalent.
Experience in medical or health professions education research.
Expertise in qualitative and/or mixed methods research.
Experience in curriculum development, assessment, and/or faculty development.
Experience working in medical education environment (UME, GME programs) with learners and faculty at various levels.
Background in integrating Al-driven tools or methodologies into medical training programs and/or educational research.
