About the role

The Department of Psychology at the University of New Haven seeks to fill two tenure-track faculty positions in Counselor Education and Supervision. These positions are located on the University's West Haven campus and are committed to teaching master’s-level counseling courses and occasionally undergraduate classes.

Responsibilities

  • Teach master’s-level counseling courses such as multicultural and diversity issues in counseling, assessment, family therapy, trauma and crisis intervention, practicum, and internship.
  • Teach predominantly in-person at the University’s West Haven campus.
  • Hold or be eligible for licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the State of Connecticut (or equivalent state licensure).
  • Be a dynamic instructor capable of teaching master’s and undergraduate courses using in-person, hybrid, and online modalities.
  • Experience advising, mentoring, and providing clinical supervision to graduate counseling students.
  • Hold or be eligible for licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the State of Connecticut (or equivalent state licensure).
  • Have a strong and independent program of research.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to serving culturally, ethnically, and linguistically diverse communities.
  • Participate in faculty-mentored research, program development, student evaluation, and accreditation activities.

Requirements

  • Expertise in Counselor Education & Supervision.
  • A doctoral degree in Counselor Education & Supervision (ABD applicants may be considered; however, degree completion must occur no later than the end of the first academic year of appointment).
  • Degrees from CACREP-accredited programs are preferred.
  • Hold or be eligible for licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the State of Connecticut (or equivalent state licensure).
  • A demonstrated commitment to serving culturally, ethnically, and linguistically diverse communities.
