Assistant - Associate - Professor, Chair in Population Health and Health Systems Science Department, College of Nursing

This is a full-time, 12-month in-person faculty appointment at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor, with a 50% administrative role and faculty appointment commensurate with rank and scholarship. Consecutive Term or Tenure-Track eligible.

About the Role

The Department Chair assists the Dean in overseeing College of Nursing faculty to meet the tripartite mission of teaching, research and creative/scholarly activity, and professional and University service and public outreach. The Chair is a key member of the Dean’s leadership team, providing strategic insight and assisting in setting college goals while fostering positive relationships with College and University leadership and community stakeholders, including OUH and clinical site partners.

Responsibilities

• Oversee promotion processes, faculty development programs, recruitment, retention, evaluation, and personnel actions.
• Lead faculty governance and initiatives pertaining to faculty well-being across all campus sites.
• Develop and articulate a clear vision and strategy for the department aligned with the University of Oklahoma’s Lead On Strategic Plan.
• Report directly to the Dean of the Fran and Earl Ziegler College of Nursing.

Requirements

• Eligible for or hold a current registered professional nurse (RN) license for the State of Oklahoma.
• Terminal degree (preferably in Nursing or a health-related field).
