Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Evaluates Behavioral Neurology patients.
- Maintains follow-up care for Behavioral Neurology patients.
- Participate in Neurology Grand Rounds.
- Perform night call and weekend inpatient coverage at Barnabas-Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in equal proportion with the other faculty in rotation.
- Teach and mentor medical students, neurology residents, Behavioral Neurology fellows, and rotators from other departments.
- Participate as site principal investigator or sub-investigator in clinical trials sponsored by industry and other sources.
- Perform and publish research to the extent consistent with the track of the appointment (Professional Practice, Clinical Educator, or Clinical Scholar).
- Refer patients to clinical trials and other research activities within the department and participate in the scholarly culture of the department.
- Engage in community service responsibilities including providing neurological care for indigent patients and teaching or advising lay community groups on Behavioral Neurology.
- Contribute to the administrative tasks of the department of Neurology and RWJMS, including committee membership and attendance at faculty meetings.
- Maintain knowledge through continuing education and maintain Board certification in neurology and any relevant subspecialty certification.
Qualifications
Requirements include a MD degree, board certification in neurology, and completion of a fellowship in Behavioral Neurology. Experience in clinical care of patients with Behavioral Disorders, Alzheimer’s Disease, and participation in clinical trials is preferred.
