Assistant / Associate / Professor

About the role

The University of Vermont Cancer Center and the Department of Molecular Physiology and Biophysics in the Robert Larner, M.D. College of Medicine at the University of Vermont seeks a full time, Tenure pathway faculty member at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level.

Responsibilities

• Conduct a research-focused position with at least some component of investigation relevant to cancer biology.
• Join a dynamic and collaborative community of scientists, educators, and trainees focused on understanding the molecular mechanisms associated with protein structure and function that impact molecular motors and cytoskeletal proteins involved in cell division and intracellular transport and how these relate to human health and disease.
• Contribute to the UVM Cancer Center’s goal to eliminate and understand the molecular mechanisms involved in tumor development, tumor microenvironment interactions, tumor metastases and tumor dormancy.
• Participate in teaching activities and work with learners at all levels.

Requirements

• Ph.D. or equivalent.
• An active cancer-relevant, peer-reviewed funded research program.
• Demonstrated prior and current success in obtaining peer-reviewed cancer-relevant funding.

Qualifications

• Ability to demonstrate how research aligns with cancer biology.
• Willingness to engage with the UVM Cancer Center and the Department of Molecular Physiology and Biophysics.

Skills

• Expertise in molecular mechanisms associated with protein structure and function.
• Research focus on molecular motors and cytoskeletal proteins involved in cell division and intracellular transport.
• Strong record of obtaining peer-reviewed cancer-relevant funding.

Pay

The anticipated salary range for this position is $115,000 – $200,000 based on rank and experience.
