About the role

The Department of Biology in the College of Science at the University of Texas at Arlington invites applications for a tenure‑track faculty position in Genomics at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. The successful candidate will establish a nationally recognized, collaborative research program and contribute to the department’s growing research community. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to, spatially‑resolved functional genomics, cell signaling, genetics and epigenetics, and other integrative approaches to understanding biological function. Research may involve any level of biological organization across model and non‑model organisms, using integrative, mechanistic, and systems‑level approaches to investigate physiological, genetic, and epigenetic mechanisms that govern health and disease.

Assistant Professor applicants must have a doctoral degree in a relevant field, demonstrate a strong trajectory for extramural grant funding, and show potential for high‑quality research and scholarly achievements. Associate Professor candidates are expected to arrive with an actively funded research program. All new faculty will contribute to UTA through high‑quality, evidence‑based teaching of undergraduate and graduate (Master’s and Ph.D.) students.

Required qualifications

• Ph.D. or equivalent in genomics or a related discipline.
• Strong publication record or clear potential in the relevant field.
• Robust research program with existing external funding or strong potential for funding.
• Commitment to high‑quality teaching at both graduate and undergraduate levels.
