About the role

The Department of Counseling Psychology, Social Psychology, and Counseling invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor who will serve as the next Program Director of Counseling Psychology for our APA accredited PhD program.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Teaching: Undergraduate and graduate instruction in counseling; develop and teach within undergraduate major in counseling; practicum supervision and participation in departmental clinic training activities; teach courses consistent with teaching expertise in relevant area.

  • Research: Keep abreast of recent scholarly developments in areas of specialty and incorporate into teaching. Conduct and publish scholarly research.

  • Service: Actively contribute to the intellectual and professional life of the Department, College of Health, Ball State University, and the surrounding community through general service. Participate in local and national professional service activities.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Earned Doctorate in counseling psychology from APA accredited program by August 2026; ABD candidates will be considered only if all degree requirements will be completed by August 2026.

  • The candidate must demonstrate professional competence in a specialty area within counseling psychology, and interest in teaching undergraduate courses and in teaching assessment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • License-eligible as a Health Service Provider in Psychology.

  • Highly qualified scholar with the ability to contribute to the department's scientist-professional training model, with demonstrated research, teaching and mentoring experiences and competencies, preferably at the undergraduate level.

  • Ability to contribute to one or more of the graduate programs in the department; with ability to mentor students, contribute, and facilitate immersive learning experiences.
