Assistant/Associate or Professor of Clinical Radiation Oncology - Clinical Medical Physicist (Gamma Knife)

About the role

The Department of Radiation Oncology at the Keck School of Medicine of USC seeks a full-time Assistant/Associate/Professor of Clinical Radiation Oncology for its Radiation Oncology practice at Keck Medical Center of USC, Los Angeles, CA.

Responsibilities

• Direct physics consultation with attending physicians
• Create treatment plans for stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) and Gamma Knife patients
• Perform patient-specific quality assurance (QA) procedures
• Schedule and deliver Gamma Knife treatments
• Coordinate with neurosurgeons and radiation oncologists to determine imaging and planning goals for patients
• Maintain standards and regulation requirements (e.g., NCR, State, ACR)
• Perform quality control activities for equipment maintenance and calibration, including service and required regulatory quality assurance
• Consult with radiation oncologists, referring surgeons, staff, and patients
• Provide routine therapy physics services

Requirements

• Master's or PhD in medical physics
• Experience with Gamma Knife (Esprit) technology
• Certification by the American Board of Radiology (ABR) or the American Board of Medical Physics (ABMP) in Therapeutic Radiological Physics is strongly preferred, but candidates who have completed part 2 of the ABR certification process will be considered
• A minimum of 5+ years of applied and varied clinical radiation therapy physics experience is preferred

Benefits

The annual base salary range for this position is $170,000-$279,000.
