Assistant, Associate, or Full Project Scientist - Ophthalmology AI Research
About the role
The University of California San Diego, Department of Ophthalmology (https://oph.ucsd.edu/), is committed to academic excellence within its faculty, staff, and student body seeks to recruit project scientist(s) wishing to join an established team of vision scientists using artificial intelligence to detect ophthalmologic diseases and interested in pursuing grant funding. The position provides opportunities to use extensive databases of clinical and demographic data and retinal imaging for artificial intelligence applications in ophthalmology.
Responsibilities
- Perform studies
- Provide onsite teaching and mentoring of students and staff
- Draft manuscripts
- Prepare presentations
- Present at conferences
- Participate in grant writing
Qualifications
- Candidates must have a PhD or MD/PhD in Ophthalmology or other health-related fields.
- Candidates with experience using artificial intelligence in ophthalmic research related to Glaucoma detection, Progression, Optical Coherence Tomography Angiography, Fundus and Retinal OCT, are preferred.
