Assistant/Associate/Full Professor - Educator, Civil Engineering
About the role
The Department of Civil and Architectural Engineering and Construction Management (CAECM) in the College of Engineering and Applied Science (CEAS) at the University of Cincinnati (UC) invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track Assistant/Associate/Full Professor - Educator position in Structural Engineering. Appointment rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The appointment has the possibility to begin as early as August 15, 2026.
Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in structural engineering such as but not limited to: statics, strength of materials, structural analysis, and reinforced concrete design
- Develop and enhance curriculum to reflect current industry practices and emerging technologies
- Implement active, experiential, and project-based learning approaches
- Contribute to program assessment, accreditation (e.g., ABET), and continuous improvement processes
- Advise and mentor students, including student professional organizations such as ASCE and Structural Engineers Association of Ohio
- Participate in service to the department, college, and profession
Requirements
- Prior to the effective date of the appointment, Ph.D. in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related discipline
Qualifications
The successful candidate will contribute to an established, nationally recognized Structural Engineering program within a Civil Engineering department. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to provide leadership in curriculum development or program-level initiatives, contribute to the strategic growth of the Civil Engineering program, and strengthen partnerships with industry to enhance the co-op program.

Pay
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and rank of appointment.
Schedule
No specific schedule is provided; however, the workload is expected to be 90% teaching and 10% service.
