Assistant/Associate Dean for Osteopathic Integration

Specific Responsibilities

  • Teaches in assigned courses
  • Develops and delivers presentations to advance OMM/OPP to residents, physicians, and the public
  • Serves as a student mentor as assigned

Administration

  • Responsible for integration of OMM/OPP throughout the curriculum
  • Facilitates faculty recruitment, education, evaluations, and professional development
  • Participates in administrative functions including policy evaluation and development, student advising, and peer review
  • Supports accreditation functions for the COM
  • Prepares and oversees the budget for the department

Qualification(s)

  • Board Eligible/Certified DO or MD with appropriate training and skills
  • Clinical experience practicing OMT within their specialty
  • Graduate of an accredited College of Osteopathic Medicine or LCME
  • Curricular and teaching experience, in formal and informal instruction, and learner supervision and evaluation
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Detailed oriented and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Expertise with Microsoft Office Suite products and willingness to learn new technologies

Research and Scholarly Activity

  • Promote student research and scholarly activity with an emphasis on research engaging OMM/OPP
  • Contribute to the advancement of knowledge and the development of osteopathic medicine through scientific research
