Responsibilities
- Plans, organizes and implements recreational programs.
- Pool Facility Management
- Program Development
- Recruitment, hiring, training, supervising, and retention of aquatics staff
- Aquatics staff including lifeguards, swim instructors, on-deck supervisors, aquatic group fitness instructors, masters coaches
- Development and implementation of monthly staff in-service trainings
- Make-up training assignments
- Tracking staff attendance for both aquatics programming and operational staff
- Weekly staffing schedule and covering shifts during all operating hours
- Lifeguard Training and CPR/First Aid courses, swim lessons, water exercise, and masters swimming
- Develop and implement staff policies and procedures
- Under direction of Aquatics Manager
- Maintain records of aquatics personnel certifications, licensing, staff trainings, UC Compliance trainings, and ensure all staff certifications and trainings are current
- Develop and determine criteria for all employees' wages based upon UC classifications and market survey
- Conduct staff performance evaluations and apply corrective action when needed
- Develop and maintain clear communication with all employees
- Maintain accurate human resources and payroll records
- Maintain accurate staff completion records
