About the role

The Division of Pharmaceutical Sciences at LIU Pharmacy invites applications for two full-time tenure-track faculty positions at the Assistant/Associate/Professor level in the field of Pharmaceutics. The candidates will participate in scholarship, teaching, and service functions within the College.

Responsibilities

  • Teach in the graduate pharmaceutics program (M.S. & Ph.D.) and in the Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) program.
  • Participate in research activities within the College of Pharmacy, including working with integrated drug discovery and development centers such as The Williamson Institute for Pharmacometrics, Zupko Institute for Systems Pharmacology and Pharmacogenomics, Lachman Institute for Pharmaceutical Analysis, and Natoli Institute for Industrial Pharmacy Research and Development.
  • Collaborate with researchers both on and off campus and seek and obtain extramural funding for research.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. degree in Pharmaceutics. A B.S. degree in pharmacy is highly desirable.
  • A prior record of teaching in some capacity (teaching assistant, Instructor, Lecturer, etc.) at a college of pharmacy or similar program is preferred.
  • A track record of scholarly research and peer-reviewed publications and demonstrate potential for attracting extramural funding.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: Rank will depend on qualifications and experience. These positions require a Ph.D. degree in Pharmaceutics. A B.S. degree in pharmacy is highly desirable. A prior record of teaching in some capacity (teaching assistant, Instructor, Lecturer, etc.) at a college of pharmacy or similar program is preferred. Applicants must possess a track record of scholarly research and peer-reviewed publications and demonstrate potential for attracting extramural funding. Candidates must possess excellent oral and written communication skills.

Skills

Multidisciplinary experience and/or interest in translational pharmaceutics are highly sought for these positions. Candidates with drug developers’ spirits and comprehensively tailor their research programs into a product that fulfills therapeutic unmet needs through exit steps to attract extramural funding are highly encouraged to apply.
