Assistant Administrator, Support & Ancillary Services
Position Overview
Provides leadership and vision to the organization by aligning patient, physician, staff, and community needs with the overall mission and strategy of the assigned affiliate and Sutter Health. Has responsibility and oversight over all operations in the Ancillary Departments. Oversees Support Service operations and leads/serves on various hospital-wide committees to drive improvement and execution of the assigned affiliate and Sutter Health dashboard. Oversees management agreements of various services and requires effective employee and media staff relations while promoting positive community interface and relationships.
Accountable for quality, program development, inpatient and outpatient growth, physician recruitment, and operations management improvement for all areas assigned and for the overall Hospital. Participates in and makes recommendations on strategies for quality, growth, technology, recruitment, and strategic positioning as a representative of the assigned affiliate within the respective operating unit for all areas assigned. This entails working closely with the operating unit support staff, physicians, the local hospital leadership, the Medical Foundation, and physician leadership.
Develops metrics and a dashboard to measure each of the pillars and takes corrective actions when required. Education
Master's: Health Care Administration or related field or equivalent education/experience.
Experience
15 years of recent relevant experience.
Skills and Knowledge
- A thorough knowledge of hospital and healthcare administration is required.
- A working knowledge of all hospital departments with special knowledge in finance, planning, marketing, physician relations, personnel/human resources management, and nursing is required.
- Must possess the proven ability to both manage and develop managers.
- Must have written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Must have well-developed problem identification, analytical, problem resolution, persuasion, and negotiation skills.
- Must have demonstrated organizational skills with attention to details, and the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and projects.

Pay
Pay range is $165,339.20 to $264,555.20 annual salary. The compensation range may vary based on the geographic location where the position is filled. Total compensation considers multiple factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, departmental equity, training, and organizational needs. Base pay is only one component of Sutter Health’s comprehensive total rewards program.
