Assistant Adjunct Professor - Mathematics

About the role

The University of Northern Iowa's Department of Mathematics seeks applications for a temporary Assistant Adjunct Professor, starting in October 2026. This position will teach ELSPED 4118-61 Differentiating Math for All Students and Differentiation Practicum. The course is scheduled for the second half of the Fall 2026 semester (10/19/2026 to 12/18/2026) on Wednesday evenings from 5:30 - 8:30 and will have two Super Saturdays that run from 9-12 and 1-4.

Responsibilities

• Teach ELSPED 4118-61 Differentiating Math for All Students and Differentiation Practicum
• Work with a team consisting of another faculty member and two field supervisors
• Co-plan with the instructor teaching the differentiation component
• Focus on differentiated instruction and math teaching methodologies
• Cover math teaching methodology and draw content from the MATH 3204 methods course

Requirements

• Master's degree in Math Education or a related field
• Experience working in K-8 education required
• Experience supporting special education students in math preferred
