Adjunct Professor - Mathematics

About the role

The Department of Mathematics and Physics seeks adjunct faculty passionate about teaching and student learning in a Christian environment. Due to program growth and increased student enrollment, additional sections of the following courses are available for adjunct professors:

• Intermediate Algebra
• College Algebra
• Trigonometry
• Math for Critical Thinking (Math for Liberal Arts)
• Finite Mathematics
• Precalculus
• Calculus I (possible)

Opportunities are available for both daytime and evening instruction.

Responsibilities

• Utilize a course syllabus for each course, following established departmental and institutional guidelines.
• Provide timely, quality access to students via electronic communication and other appropriate methods.
• Evaluate students using established means to measure progress in achieving course objectives and inform them of their progress in a timely manner.
• Maintain professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community.
• Submit paperwork and forms in a timely fashion.
• Be available to students outside of the classroom.
• Perform other duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a master’s degree with at least 18 graduate semester hours in Mathematics.
• Ability to teach most freshman-level mathematics courses.
• Demonstrated expertise in appropriate and current instructional pedagogy.
