About the role

The Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory (VDL) and the Department of Pathobiology and Diagnostic Investigation (PDI) in the College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) at Michigan State University (MSU) invite applications for a position in endocrinology designed to enhance service, research, and education in clinical and diagnostic areas. The appointment will be in the Health Programs (HP) Faculty System (clinical track).

Responsibilities

  • Provide written interpretations and phone consultations for diagnostic services.
  • Support the research missions of the college through collaborative and interdisciplinary research.
  • Contribute to the teaching of veterinary and graduate students.
  • Participate in clinical research utilizing the extensive archive of endocrinology data and current cases.

Requirements

  • A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent degree.
  • Board eligibility or certification and/or an additional graduate degree are desirable, but extensive clinical experience may be substituted.
  • A primary emphasis on diagnostic service with opportunities to support the research missions of the college.

Qualifications

  • Strong leadership qualities and skills.
  • Knowledge of assay methodologies and assay development.
  • Excellent written and interpersonal skills.

Skills

  • Collaborative and interdisciplinary research skills.
  • Teaching abilities.
  • Research experience in endocrinology.
