About the role

Goldman Sachs Ayco seeks professionals with an understanding of the markets who can thrive in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail, strong communication skills, and client service are essential. The role involves educating and supporting Wealth Advisors and their teams in the planning, design, and implementation of sophisticated wealth transfer and tax-advantaged life insurance strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Educate and support Wealth Advisors and their teams in the planning, design, and implementation of sophisticated wealth transfer and tax-advantaged life insurance strategies.
  • Identify and present planning opportunities to Wealth Advisor teams in existing and prospective client relationships.
  • Drive Wealth Advisors to prioritize identification, presentation, and implementation of suitable planning.
  • Liaise between Wealth Advisor Teams and internal Underwriting and Implementation Teams to implement planning including the drafting, review, and execution of trusts for trust-owned policies.
  • Engage in direct and indirect work with third-party estate planning attorneys and institutional trustee services.
  • Partner with Product Analysis Team to enhance product and strategy portfolios based on changes in the product landscape, market conditions, or applicable tax law.
  • Identify new or alternative planning opportunities via understanding changing client dynamics including wealth demographics, client tenure, multi-generational engagement, and building on existing planning.
  • Meet goals set for specific Wealth Advisors which contribute to the overall unit goals.
  • Enhance the client experience through exemplary client service standards.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership skills, acting as a role model for other associates.
  • Partner with senior management on key initiatives and the growth and development of our team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Advanced degree or designation such as CFP Series 7 or Series 6 preferred.
  • Life and health insurance license required.
  • Minimum three years’ experience in life insurance sales is required.
  • Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and foster strong networks of relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to be detail-oriented, self-motivated, and capable of working in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (e.g., Outlook, Excel, Word).

Skills

  • Knowledge of diverse insurance policy structures, trust structures such as Revocable Living Trusts, Irrevocable Life Insurance Trusts (ILITs), Intentionally Defective Grantor Trusts (IDGTs), and funding strategies including gifting and loans, both intra-family and third party.
  • Experience with Grantor Retained Annuity Trusts (GRATs), Qualified Personal Residence Trusts (QPRTs), Irrevocable Gift Trusts (IGTs), Family Limited Partnerships (FLPs), and other sophisticated planning techniques.
  • Understanding of changing client dynamics including wealth demographics, client tenure, multi-generational engagement, and building on existing planning.
  • Ability to engage in direct and indirect work with third-party estate planning attorneys and institutional trustee services.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (e.g., Outlook, Excel, Word).
