Responsibilities
- Conduct regular foot or vehicle patrols of the interior and exterior to check doors, windows, and gates for security breaches.
- Monitor site and building entrance points, verify visitor credentials, and manage staff/visitor sign-ins.
- Operate and advise on the onsite weapons detection system (Evolv); respond to and intervene in detected weapons incidents to protect the site and staff.
- Monitor alarm systems and CCTV cameras to detect unauthorized activity; review unlawful activity or site policy violations for reporting and escalation. Escalate as needed and coordinate with off-site law enforcement for controlled response.
- Serve as the first responder to emergencies, disturbances, or safety hazards; contact law enforcement or fire departments as necessary.
- Respond to emergency situations, gain control, abate or resolve problems, and secure the area. Report and escalate when needed, leveraging off-site law enforcement as required.
- Prepare daily, accurate reports detailing observations, incidents, and security checks.
- Enforce company policies and uphold safety regulations, including removing trespassers if necessary.
- Complete all required transaction and activity reports to completion.
- Perform life and safety-critical inspections on key building areas and equipment at the required frequency (daily/hourly).
- Perform asset inspections for outbound team members to monitor product handling in the building; detect and inspect potential theft situations and respond accordingly.

Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)/home school equivalency.
- Eligible to work in the United States.
- Pass a background check.
- Ability to work on various shifts, overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Qualifications
- Must be organized and detail-oriented.
- Proficient in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and understand all aspects of inventory movement in a distribution center.
- Proficient in writing, Microsoft Excel, MS Outlook, and MS Word.
- Strong partnership, team-oriented with interpersonal and collaboration skills.
- Perform assigned role with an expected level of credibility and integrity.
- Passion for auditing, checking, and high attention to detail.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Experience with RF scanning devices.
- Work history showing good attendance and zero work function disciplinary actions.
- At least 1 year working for AAP or previous work experience in warehouse/distribution security.
- Candidates with previous security, safety, and/or warehouse exposure are preferred.
Physical Expectations
- Ability to stand for 7-8 continuous hours with limited breaks and without physical issue.
- Ability to climb ladders and navigate uneven ground.
- Frequently requires stooping, kneeling, and crouching.
- Occasionally required to sit, climb, or balance.
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally team lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
