About the role
The Asset Manager, Fuel Cells and LDES supports the lifecycle management of Equinix's onsite and co-sited power generation portfolio, including fuel cells, Long Duration Energy Storage, and other distributed generation assets. This role serves as the primary vendor contact and coordinates across Global Design & Construction (GDC), Operations, Energy, Legal, Finance, and other stakeholders to ensure vendors meet contractual obligations and the generating units operate effectively.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary interface with the vendor during installation, commissioning, and operations for onsite, co-sited, or aggregated DR resources
- Coordinate across Global Design & Construction (GDC), Operations, Energy, Legal and Finance to ensure delivery milestones are met and contractual obligations are being achieved
- Support the review and execution of required agreements and/or amendments (e.g., change orders, financing agreements) in alignment with internal governance
- Track and report on the actual operational and financial performance of the units vs budget
- Build out our in-house operational best practices for onsite, distributed, and co-sited generation facilities
Qualifications
- 5–7 years of experience in energy infrastructure, power generation, asset management, or related fields
- Deep knowledge of fuel cells, reciprocating engines, battery storage, and other generation technologies
- Successful track record managing, tracking and enforcing vendor obligations, milestones, deliverables, and change controls in partnership with Legal/Procurement
- Proven ability to serve as a primary point of contact and coordinate across engineering, construction, operations, and external vendors
- Strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills
Preferred Experience
- In data centers, industrial facilities, or other mission-critical environments
- Familiarity with EPC, equipment supply, or long-term service agreements and associated change control processes
