Asset Based Finance Transaction Management Associate

About the role

Sixth Street, a leading global investment firm, is seeking a dynamic Transaction Manager to join its expanding Asset Based Finance (ABF) team. The ABF group operates at the forefront of asset and platform investing and origination across diverse financial markets, including residential and commercial mortgages, consumer assets, commercial equipment, renewables and energy finance, infrastructure debt, and transportation. In this role you will manage and lead transactions focused on asset‑backed financing, securitizations, and platform investments, working side‑by‑side with the ABF business to negotiate legal documentation, drive and review diligence, and manage life‑cycle events.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage transaction processes, including negotiating legal documentation and reviewing due diligence.
• Serve as a trusted team member, aiding in closing credit financings and securitization transactions.
• Oversee critical third‑party relationships, including external counsel and diligence providers.
• Provide insights and support on program improvements and innovations.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders across the ABF business and broader Sixth Street platform, interacting continuously with legal, ESG committees, capital formation, and compliance.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.
• Membership in good standing in a state Bar.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in financings, securitization, and capital markets transactions, preferably with a major law firm or corporate law department.
• Strong understanding of legal and regulatory policy issues affecting securities and ABS, MBS, and CMBS markets.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to manage multiple transactions simultaneously.
