Assessment Specialist, RN, Behavioral Health

Full-Time Nightshift, Sun, Mon, Tues 6pm-6:30am (One Saturday per month)
Position Summary
The Assessment Specialist is responsible for receiving inquiry calls, assisting with scheduling assessments, ensuring assessments by qualified mental health professionals, screening for medical and behavioral emergency conditions, performing comprehensive assessments, coordinating with the clinical team/on-call physician, interpreting treatment, and completing administrative processes.
How You'll Contribute
- Facilitates response to requests for services, including initial response, assessment, and referral process, designation of appropriate level of care, admission into services, and follow-up activity
- Conducts initial evaluation, initiates assessment, documents patient symptomology, functioning, and needs, and provides information to MD for LOC determination
- Demonstrates excellent customer service skills in assisting patients, physicians, visitors, and coworkers
- Maintains clear knowledge of Emergency Detention paperwork and processes and EMTALA
- Maintains all pre-admission and admission paperwork with accuracy and completes pre-certification with insurance companies
- Reports to assessment manager/supervisor

Additional Requirements
- Current state RN license and associate's degree from an accredited nursing school or master's degree in social work/counseling
- CPR and De-Escalation certification within 30 days of hire
