About the role

Responsibilities
- Facilitates response to a request for services, including the initial response, assessment, referral process, designation of appropriate level of care, admission into services, and appropriate follow-up activity.
- Conducts initial evaluation, initiates the assessment, documents patient symptomology, functioning, and needs, and provides information to MD for LOC determination.
- Demonstrates excellent customer service skills in assisting patients, physicians, visitors, and coworkers promptly and courteously.
- Possess clear knowledge of Emergency Detention paperwork and processes and EMTALA.
- Maintains all preadmission and admission paperwork with accuracy and completes all pre-certification with insurance companies.
- Monitors patient for change of condition and responds accordingly up to and including notification of the physician.
- RN will follow hospital policy for medication administration.
- RN will consistently use empathy, dignity, and respect when interacting with patients.
- Affords assistance/performs comprehensive nursing assessments on all patients.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited program of professional nursing or relevant state licensure required.
- Previous experience in a psychiatric health care facility, with direct experience working with chemical dependency, dual diagnosis, psychiatric and geriatric patients preferred.
- Experience in patient assessments, family motivations, treatment planning, and communication with external review organizations or comparable entities.
- Current unencumbered license to practice by the State Board of Nursing.
- CPR certification and Crisis Prevention Training (CPI) within 30 days of employment and prior to any patient contact.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.

Schedule
The schedule is 7 pm- 7:30 am, alternating weekends (3x12 hour shifts weekly).
