About the role

Mercy Behavioral Health Hospital is seeking an Assessment Specialist to join our team. This position offers a $3,000 sign-on bonus and a competitive benefits package.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitates response to a request for services, including the initial response, assessment, referral process, designation of appropriate level of care, admission into services, and appropriate follow-up activity.
  • Conducts initial evaluation, initiates the assessment, documents patient symptomology, functioning, and needs, and provides information to MD for LOC determination.
  • Demonstrates excellent customer service skills in assisting patients, physicians, visitors, and coworkers promptly and courteously.
  • Possess clear knowledge of Emergency Detention paperwork and processes and EMTALA.
  • Maintains all preadmission and admission paperwork with accuracy and completes all pre-certification with insurance companies.

Requirements

  • Education: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing or social work, active RN or LSW licensure.
  • Experience: Previous experience in behavioral health hospital highly preferred.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to pass a background check.
  • Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.

Skills

  • Strong organizational and attention to detail skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of emergency detention paperwork and processes.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $50,000 - $60,000 annually, depending on experience.

Schedule

This position is full-time and works nights.
