Assessment Specialist, Behavioral Health

About the role

As an Assessment Specialist at Collin Springs, you will play a crucial role in facilitating responses to requests for services, conducting initial evaluations, documenting patient needs, and providing information to medical professionals.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate response to requests for services, including initial response, assessment, referral process, designation of appropriate level of care, admission into services, and follow-up activity.
• Initiate assessments, document patient symptomology, functioning, and needs, and provide information to MD for LOC determination.
• Provide excellent customer service to patients, physicians, visitors, and coworkers in a prompt and courteous manner.
• Maintain accurate pre-admission and admission paperwork and complete pre-certification with insurance companies.
• Understand and comply with Emergency Detention paperwork and processes and EMTALA.

Requirements

• Associate's Degree in Nursing (required)
• Master's degree in Social Work/Counseling (required)
• Current clinical, social work, or RN license as required by state regulations
• CPR and de-escalation certification required or obtain within 30 days of hire
• Prior experience in a psychiatric healthcare facility working with adult and geriatric patients preferred
• Strong clinical assessment skills

Pay

Commensurate with experience.
