Rivendell Behavioral Health Hospital is a 149-bed inpatient psychiatric facility located in Bowling Green, KY on a 49-acre campus. Rivendell provides specialized psychiatric care for children in crisis, teens struggling with depression, anxiety, or substance abuse, and senior adults requiring treatment for conditions such as early-onset dementia, depression, or behavioral issues.

About the Role

This position is responsible for tracking all inquiry calls, completing initial assessments to determine the appropriate level of care, performing insurance pre-certification, and ensuring patients are directed to the correct disposition in consultation with the Medical Director or their designee.

Responsibilities

• Accept inquiry calls and schedule assessments.
• Perform initial clinical assessments to determine the appropriate level of care.
• Coordinate and disposition all referral calls to the appropriate level of care.
• Schedule and coordinate admissions with psychiatrists and nursing staff, including completion of all admission paperwork.
• Coordinate and follow up on all after-hours calls and admissions.
• Complete pre-certification information and forward it to the appropriate agencies in conjunction with the Business Office and Case Management.
• Communicate with referral sources to inform them of client disposition.
• Perform any other duties assigned by supervisory or administrative personnel.
• Adhere to all safety policies and safe work practices.
• Attend hospital safety trainings.
• Follow all hospital policies and procedures.
• Report all accidents immediately.

Requirements

• Master’s Degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work (with certification), or a related field; or a registered nurse with a Kentucky license.
• Five years of experience and knowledge in the area of mental health.
• Proficiency in assessment and crisis intervention.
• Strong telephone and communication skills.
