Assembly & Test Operator

About the Role

OSI Optoelectronics (OSIO) is a diversified manufacturer of standard and custom photodiodes and optical sensors for aerospace, defense, commercial, and medical applications. As one of the largest global manufacturers of optoelectronic devices, we deliver engineering design support and manufacturing capabilities from world-class facilities in the U.S., India, and Malaysia. This role involves assembling electronic components and performing a variety of processing and testing tasks as part of a production team.

Responsibilities

• Assemble electronic components from written or oral instructions under a microscope using tweezers.
• Conduct DC and PIND tests, Constant Acceleration, and Differential VBE.
• Perform Temp Test, Laser Mark, Solder Dip, X-Ray, Leak Test, External Visual, and Mechanical inspections.
• Cross-train in other related test areas as production demand requires.
• Create original documents, reports, and spreadsheets; interpret written, oral, or scheduled information.

• Report any quality problems or defects to management for corrective action.
• Maintain a neat and orderly work area.
• Achieve certification in manufacturing processes, quality requirements, and operational procedures within the first three months of employment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; relevant work experience may be substituted.
• Related work experience in a manufacturing environment desired.
• Familiarity with optical inspection, eutectic die attach, and ultrasonic wire bonding is ideal.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, Internet, and email programs.
• Ability to work daily with tweezers, microscopes, chemicals (e.g., alcohol, acetone, solder).
• Ability to sit for extended periods at a workstation and stand or walk throughout the day.
• Clear vision at 20 inches or less (with or without corrective lenses) and excellent manual dexterity.
• Basic math skills and strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong critical thinking, detail orientation, and multitasking abilities.
• Ability to work independently, identify priorities, and manage tasks efficiently.

Pay

Pay may range from $22.00 to $24.00 hourly. Final compensation will be determined based on job level, geographic location, experience, job-related knowledge, skills, and education, in conjunction with market and business considerations.
