About the role
This position is responsible for the assembly, modification, and repair of electronic hardware and prototype electronic circuitry for Strata Worldwide.
Responsibilities
- Assembles, modifies, and repairs printed circuit boards (PCBs), cable assemblies, control panels, vehicle and personnel carried electronic devices
- Solders fine-pitch surface mount components onto printed circuit boards (PCBs)
- Assembles mechanical components for small and medium scale devices
- Works from electronic and mechanical assembly documentation, wiring schematics, or creates own written procedures when given verbal instructions
- Maintains product inventory accuracy by tracking all material transfers, ordering replacement/repair components, and maintaining inventory of frequently used components and tools
- Observes good housekeeping and safety procedures; keeps equipment, tools, and work area clean
- Maintains a well-organized stock of replacement components
- Exhibits teamwork, maintaining a positive and team-based attitude; supports peers during high demand by working assigned hours and overtime as required
- Completes work in a timely manner to ensure customer needs are fulfilled and deadlines are met
- Performs other duties and/or projects as assigned
Requirements
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. from an accredited institution
- Associate’s degree from an accredited institution in Electronics Engineering Technology (EET) preferred
- Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in an electrical assembly or manufacturing setting
- 2-3 years printed circuit boards (PCBs) soldering experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- IPC training or certification a plus
Skills
- Basic electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills
- Ability to identify and solve problems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for internal and external customers
- Ability to draft and update documentation using Visio, Inventor, SolidWorks, or AutoCAD is a plus
- Excellent planning, organization, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently with light oversight
- Strong attention to detail
Working Conditions
Location: Canonsburg, PA (remote work is not available)
Travel: Occasional travel to other Strata and customer sites as required; trips may require air travel and/or overnight stay
Physical Demands:
- Ability to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl
- Ability to use hands/arms to reach, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs or more
- Excellent vision (distant and peripheral), ability to identify and distinguish colors, use a microscope for fine detail work, and adjust focus
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required during operation of certain machinery or tools
Work Environment: Typical office environment; may be subject to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, high heat, and/or exposure to chemicals
