Assembly Technician

About the role
The Assembly Technician assembles and tests conveyor systems and related components according to engineering drawings, work instructions, models, and quality standards. This position requires the ability to safely use hand and power tools, follow assembly procedures, maintain productivity goals, and ensure finished products meet all applicable requirements.
Responsibilities
- Build, assemble, and test conveyors
- Install belts, gear boxes, motors and other components and sub-assemblies on structures
- Prep finished machines for shipping and aid in the loading of trucks
- Material handling of different components and conveyors both inside and outside the plant
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Must be able to work assigned shift
- Must speak, read, write English fluently
- Must be mechanically inclined
- Effectively operate an overhead crane
- Ability to determine how to load a truck
- Must be able to use hand tools and air tools
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Ability to read tape measure
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with PLCs
- Experience with 3-phase and 12/24 VDC electrical control systems
- State electrical license
- Familiarity with Hydraulic components and their operation
- Knowledge of troubleshooting electrical and hydraulic systems
- Ability to read and interpret schematics
- Experience working directly with Engineering teams

Physical Requirements
- Performs climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting
- Holds and grips objects
- Exerts in excess of 100 lbs of force occasionally and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently and/or 20 lbs of force constantly to move objects
- Subject to prolonged periods of walking and standing
- Subject to repetitive motion of the wrists, hands and/or fingers
Working Conditions
- Works both indoors and outdoors, subject to extreme cold and heat due to the weather
- Subject to noise and subject to fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases or poor ventilation that could affect the respiratory system or skin
- Subject to oils
- Required to function in narrow aisles or passageways
Pay
$18–$25 per hour, depending on experience
