Position Overview
Innomotics, an industry‑leading supplier of motors and large drive systems, is seeking an Assembly Technician (1st Shift) at its New Kensington, PA facility. Under close supervision, you will complete mechanical and electrical assemblies and sub‑assemblies using hand tools, electronic and pneumatic tooling, and report directly to the Production Supervisor.
Responsibilities
- Wire and assemble drives, sub‑assemblies, and various components in accordance with engineering drawings, wiring schematics, and bills of material.
- Fit, align, drill, cut, and/or grind metal or plastic components during assembly.
- Lift and position products using overhead crane, power jack, fork truck, or other material‑handling devices.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work area by utilizing 5S practices and following prescribed safety regulations.
- Adhere to all safety policies and utilize required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Follow ISO workmanship procedures and work with Quality Assurance to meet internal and external customer expectations.
- Identify discrepancies or questionable conditions and communicate them to appropriate personnel.
- Participate actively in Lean continual‑improvement initiatives.
- Assist less‑experienced associates.
- Work overtime as required and perform other duties as requested, advised, or assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proficient use of basic hand and power tools.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, wiring schematics, and bills of material.
- Ability to climb and work at heights above waist level.
- Occasional heavy lifting up to 50 lb.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Basic math and problem‑solving skills.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a production environment.
- Minimum of one year of mechanical, electrical, or related experience.
- Basic digital literacy.
- Associate degree in electrical or electronics.
Compensation
Pay range: $18.50 – $24.00 per hour (actual wage may vary based on budget, experience, and location). Shift differential for second shift: $2.50 per hour. Sign‑on bonus: $1,500. Employee referral bonus: $1,500.
Schedule
1st Shift – Monday‑Thursday 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM; Friday 6:00 AM to 10:00 AM.
