About the role
The Assembly Supervisor oversees the assembly department, ensuring quality, productivity, and employee relations are met. Key responsibilities include enforcing standard operating procedures, investigating discrepancies, and coordinating schedules.
Responsibilities
- Mistakes and non-conformances are prevented by ensuring SOPs are understood and followed.
- Product integrity is maintained by verifying work instructions and recording inspections accurately.
- Root causes of discrepancies are determined and corrective actions are implemented to prevent recurrence.
- Material staging is planned and coordinated to support scheduled operations.
- Work tasks are assigned and monitored to ensure efficiency and adherence to standards.
- Problems are identified and resolved to avoid disruptions, inefficiencies, and delays.
- Training is provided to enhance cross-functional capabilities and performance appraisals are conducted.
- Employees are recognized and praised for exemplary performance.
- Disciplinary actions are initiated when necessary, ensuring consistency and respect.
Requirements
- Five years of supervisory experience in mechanical assembly, testing, gas turbines, or power generation.
- A high school diploma is required, with a technical degree preferred.
- Must be a US citizen.
- Five years of progressive achievements in manufacturing expertise.
- Proven leadership skills and ability to build consensus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and attention to detail skills.
- Effective time management and ability to meet deadlines.
- Experience in providing direction to others and defining/implementing solutions.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and electronic time and labor tracking systems.
- Thorough understanding of production operations and machinery.
