About the Business Segment

At nVent, we know that electrical systems are only as secure as the components used to fix, fasten, and mount cable and wire systems. The Electrical & Fastening Solutions segment is responsible for engineering over 100 patents. As electrical systems become more complex, nVent’s fastening experts focus on keeping things simple for the customer. Our nVent CADDY and nVent ERICO brands of fasteners are designed for easy and intuitive installation. With more than 100 million connections installed globally, ERICO CADWELD has set the industry standard in exothermic welding since 1939.

About the Role

In this position, you will be hands-on in assembling, labeling, and/or packing products in accordance with quality standards. As you grow, you will have the opportunity to cross-train in a variety of assembly positions to support the needs of the business.

Responsibilities

  • Work individually or as part of a team to assemble, fill, kit, prepare, label, and/or package an entire product or component of a product according to Work Instructions.
  • Complete work based on specifications, drawings, job routings, and/or Work Instructions.
  • Select and move production materials as required.
  • Maintain equipment and materials necessary to complete the operation.
  • Meet established safety, quality, and performance standards to ensure production schedules are met.
  • Record accurate information on Manufacturing Orders and perform transactions necessary to maintain accurate records and inventory balances.
  • Comply with all applicable safety procedures, quality specifications, and 5S Standards.
  • Report adverse conditions, non-conforming products/procedures, and 5S violations to the department leader in accordance with escalation procedures.
  • Adhere to department 5S standards daily. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
  • Notify team leader or other appropriate resource when problems arise concerning safety, quality, equipment, operations, materials, inventory, or documentation, in accordance with escalation procedures.
  • Demonstrate flexibility by performing rotational assignments as needed.
  • Participate actively as a team member through continuous improvement activities to meet customer needs.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 0-2 years of manufacturing or production work experience.
  • Ability to bend, squat down, and reach above your head.
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders.
  • Lift and carry at least 25 pounds.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment and meet operational deadlines.
  • Self-motivating with the ability to identify and escalate non-conforming processes, products, or environmental issues.
  • Ability to work with a team as part of an agile and flexible workforce.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented.
