Assembly Operator
The Role
The Assemble Operator/Production Operators are responsible for operating the Bagging Machine to ensure high levels of quality control are met and exceeded. They perform tasks such as feeding rolls into the machine, cutting material to the appropriate length, feeding staples into the machine, checking for defects, changing hydraulic system staplers, stocking the machine with material, pulling processed material from the machine, finishing cartridges, setting up chipboard, and stapling boxes.
Responsibilities
- Feed the rolls into the machine that staples the material;
- Cut the strips of material to the appropriate length;
- Feed the staples into the machine;
- Check the material for defects, preventing jamming of the material as it goes through the track;
- Change the hydraulic system staplers (guns) with spares, if necessary, due to maintenance, while keeping the machine running;
- Keep the machine stocked with material (rolls) and staples;
- Receive replenishment stock from the receiving area;
- Pull the processed material (Stapled) down from the machine above at a proper length;
- Finish each cartridge by setting up chipboard and tying the ends with rubber bands, place cartridges in the box, and set up for the track operator to close and finish packaging;
- Set up chipboard every day to pull specific boxes a day per contract;
- Receive filled boxes and push down overflowing material into the boxes, and finish the box by stapling the top;
- Set up empty ready boxes for pullers by stapling the bottom, stamping the right size, and stacking boxes into trucks or the stocking area.
