About the role

The Main Street location in Radford, Virginia is seeking an Assembly Lead to support the Brushless Housed production area. This role will report directly to Robin Akers. The Assembly Lead is responsible for overseeing daily manufacturing operations within the assigned production cell, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to established processes.

Responsibilities

  • Enforce safety rules and procedures and escalate safety concerns
  • Prioritize work for each cell
  • Update production plan
  • Job scheduling
  • Maintain dynamic resource allocation
  • Ensure on-time completion of process, 5S and Kanban audits
  • Monitor associates' training program
  • Ensure compliance with standard work and eliminate waste
  • Coordinate all shift tasks, as applicable
  • Perform production work, as needed and maintain personal current cell training requirements
  • Update and communicate production reports
  • Communicate issues as they arise and assist in resolving them quickly
  • Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives in cell and plantwide

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Working knowledge of Excel
  • Must be self-motivated, self-directed, and able to work well as a part of a team
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and peers

Qualifications

  • Familiarity reading prints, reviewing dimensions, and reviewing bill of materials
  • Experience with Oracle
  • Prior experience with problem-solving tools

Skills

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing operations
  • Effective directing of production activities
  • Proactive communication and addressing of safety, quality, and productivity issues
