Assembler/Packer I

About the role

The Assembler/Packer I and II positions within Heico are integral to the packaging and assembly of Company products. This role requires a strong commitment to teamwork, quality, and safety.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of repetitive operations to package Company products prior to shipping.
• Assemble complex components using a variety of tools.
• Install Heli-Coils as per requirements.
• Inspect work pieces for cosmetic appearance and obvious non-conformities.
• Wrap work pieces in appropriate wrapping/masking materials.
• Place wrapped parts in shipping containers.
• Maintain a clean work area and assist with general housekeeping duties.
• Report any unsafe conditions to Supervisor/Management.
• Inform Supervisor/Management about broken or damaged tooling that needs to be replaced.
• Support team development and actively promote a teamwork atmosphere.
• Ensure quality of parts before forwarding them to the next operation/process.
• Capable of performing solder operations and knowledgeable about various assembly techniques and processes.
• Capable of performing these processes with minimal oversight.
• Strives towards a culture of proactive safety.
• Understands and values the importance of safety, quality, and teamwork.

Requirements

• A High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
• 3+ years of assembly experience preferred.
• Ability to install Heli-Coils.
• Willingness to pay great attention to detail.
• Able to lift 50 lbs.

Physical Demands

• Continuous mental and visual attention is required.
• Requires constant alertness or activity.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and reach with hands and arms.
• Frequent standing and occasional walking, sitting, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
• Regularly lifts and/or moves up to 10 pounds, frequently lifts and/or moves up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lifts and/or moves up to 75 pounds.

Work Environment

• Near moving mechanical parts.
• Exposure to airborne particles and chemicals.
• Noise level is usually very loud.
• Required to wear safety glasses, hearing protection, and safety shoes.
