About the role
The Assembler/Packer I and II positions within Heico are integral to the packaging and assembly of Company products. This role requires a strong commitment to teamwork, quality, and safety.
Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of repetitive operations to package Company products prior to shipping.
- Assemble complex components using a variety of tools.
- Install Heli-Coils as per requirements.
- Inspect work pieces for cosmetic appearance and obvious non-conformities.
- Wrap work pieces in appropriate wrapping/masking materials.
- Place wrapped parts in shipping containers.
- Maintain a clean work area and assist with general housekeeping duties.
- Report any unsafe conditions to Supervisor/Management.
- Inform Supervisor/Management about broken or damaged tooling that needs to be replaced.
- Support team development and actively promote a teamwork atmosphere.
- Ensure quality of parts before forwarding them to the next operation/process.
- Capable of performing solder operations and knowledgeable about various assembly techniques and processes.
- Capable of performing these processes with minimal oversight.
- Strives towards a culture of proactive safety.
- Understands and values the importance of safety, quality, and teamwork.
Requirements
- A High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
- 3+ years of assembly experience preferred.
- Ability to install Heli-Coils.
- Willingness to pay great attention to detail.
- Able to lift 50 lbs.
Physical Demands
- Continuous mental and visual attention is required.
- Requires constant alertness or activity.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and reach with hands and arms.
- Frequent standing and occasional walking, sitting, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
- Regularly lifts and/or moves up to 10 pounds, frequently lifts and/or moves up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lifts and/or moves up to 75 pounds.
Work Environment
- Near moving mechanical parts.
- Exposure to airborne particles and chemicals.
- Noise level is usually very loud.
- Required to wear safety glasses, hearing protection, and safety shoes.
