Work Schedule

Second Shift (Afternoons)

Ambient Conditions

  • Able to lift 40 lbs. without assistance
  • Adherence to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Safety Standards
  • Cleanroom: no hair products, jewelry, makeup, nail polish, perfume, exposed piercings, facial hair etc. allowed
  • Loud Noises (Equipment/Machinery)
  • Some degree of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs etc.)

Pay

Pay Range: $23 - $24 per hour

Shift Diff

2nd shift is Mon – Fri 2pm – 10:30pm. Shift diff - 10%

How Will You Make an Impact?

Thermo Fisher Scientific Hillsboro campus is on the cutting edge of global technology in pursuit of enabling our customers to make the world a Healthier, Cleaner and Safer place. A Day in the Life: Conduct assembly, alignments, and final configurations of components. Conduct assembly work applying prescribed methods using a variety of hand tools, fixtures, and test equipment. Collect test data, use databases and other office programs to document the manufacturing process. Participate in resolving production challenges and making process decisions. Assist in the selection and/or set-up of specialized equipment. Perform a wide variety of troubleshooting to identify and resolve issues. Perform equipment set-up, calibration, and preventative maintenance. Follow audit and safety guidelines. Participate in continuous process improvement.

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 1 year of manufacturing or mechanical assembly experience required
  • Background in precision mechanical assembly and low-volume, sophisticated manufacturing processes required
  • Experience in lean manufacturing, 6S and continuous improvement a plus
  • Previous assembly experience in a Clean Room environment is a plus
  • Experience with Windows-based and MS Office programs (Word, Excel, Division-Specific Outlook and Access)

Physical Requirements / Work Environment

  • Ability to lift-up to 35lbs
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, successful in partnering with colleagues of differing cultural, language, and educational backgrounds
  • Ability to work in appropriate PPE
