Position Summary
The Assembler III, Electro-mechanical will perform mechanical, electronic, and general assembly tasks in a fast paced dynamic manufacturing environment. This position is intended for individuals that possess experience in manufacturing, assembly or operations, or technical individuals.
Job Duties And Responsibilities
- Read, interpret, and follow specific and highly detailed work instructions, and are responsible for making suggestions for clarity and improvement.
- Proficiency in multiple electro-mechanical manufacturing processes.
- Operate and troubleshoot systems.
- Operate torque tools, electric drivers, hand tools, specialized equipment, and adhesive dispensers.
- Proficient at discerning systems.
- Identify and correct issues in systems.
- Perform quality inspections, specific electronic inspections, and recognize workmanship defects and component irregularities or defects.
- Process and make decisions based off of job routings.
- Aid in training others.
- Identify opportunities for improvement.
- Engages in and actively volunteers for Continuous Improvement projects/tasks.
- May be required to work in other functional areas and/or facilities depending on business needs.
- May be required to work overtime or alternate shifts based on business needs.
- Participate on problem solving teams for driving to root cause of internal and external quality failures, particularly related to prevention of customer escapes.
- Participate in 5S Workplace organizational activities and maintain the area in good working order through sustainment activities, including requests for maintenance when needed for both personal space and multi-use department spaces.
- Miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Education/Experience & Skills
- High School diploma or equivalent required, or related experience, or equivalent combination of combination of education and training.
- Typically 4 - 6 years of previous assembly experience is preferred.
- Electrical, or mechanical assembly experience.
- Electric handling and cleaning experience is preferred.
- Possess understanding and knowledge of electronics and ESD.
- High attention to detail, with a focus on quality first.
- Skill with soldering; certification is preferred.
- Proficient in torque tools and general understanding of torque tool operation and adjustment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel, and ERP systems with the ability to move job routings and ERP transactions.
- Ability to clearly, concisely, and accurately convey ideas and information to others, in English, both verbally and in written form.
- Ability to work independently or as a member of a team, with minimal supervision; self-motivated with a very strong work-ethic.
