Assembler II - Sub Assembly Refrigeration

About the role

As part of a team, you will assemble different components of product lines, including preparing coils as described in job texts, performing leak checks, filling coils with nitrogen, and placing pressure plates on coils.

Responsibilities

• Read and comprehend job orders and bills of materials
• Identify parts used on assigned product lines and their placement locations
• Read and comprehend blueprints or schematic drawings to determine component locations, sizes, capacities, and types (e.g., compressors, condensers, expansion valves, tubing, or piping)
• Cut, bend, and braze specified tubing to inlets and outlets of components to form liquid and suction lines or refrigeration systems
• Remove air from systems and charge them with specified amounts and types of refrigerant
• Conduct pre-startup checks on all equipment
• Identify and use power and hand tools required for assigned product lines
• Perform assembly functions using hand or power tools
• Identify parts and part descriptions using work order information, such as bills of materials
• Utilize material gauging and dimensioning information
• Read rulers, tape measures, metal squares, and other measuring instruments
• Fasten parts together with bolts, screws, speed clips, rivets, or fasteners
• Identify maintenance needs for equipment and tooling
• Utilize electrical testing equipment, such as dielectric testers or voltage meters
• Work at different workstations as production needs require
• Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work area
• Use proper safety equipment and apparel required for each operation
• Perform other duties as assigned

Physical Demands

• Occasionally (up to 1/3 of the time): Kneeling, squatting, pinching, foot use, and lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs alone or 75 lbs assisted
• Frequently (1/3 to 2/3 of the time): Walking, stooping/twisting, pushing/pulling, neck rotation/extension, and lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs
• Constantly (2/3 or more of the time): Standing, reaching, gripping, visual acuity (near/far), and lifting/carrying up to 10 lbs
